Nathalie Paarlberg

Nathalie is an art historian, writer, and COO of Turquoise Mountain, an international NGO supporting communities to protect and revitalise their cultural heritage. She has worked in cultural heritage across the Middle East and Asia, living in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and India. Nathalie is the author of a book on Afghanistan and serves as a board member of the Dutch NGO Sounds of Change. She holds degrees in Religious Studies from Oriel College, University of Oxford, Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art, and Asian Studies from Leiden University. Nathalie was appointed member of the CER Board in 2026.
